AAC&U Seminar Grant Award

The Bridging Theory to Practice Project, a partner of the Association for American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), awarded my grant proposal for a civic seminar at St. Edward’s University! The grant will fund a day-long seminar for faculty, staff, and students to generate ideas to better integrate international students into St. Edward’s and our surrounding community.

Communication Teacher Acceptance

My manuscript “Let’s Take a Trip: Exploring the Effect of Listening Styles,” was just accepted for publication in Communication Teacher. I use this activity to teach listening preferences in several of my courses, and I am excited to share it with others.

Papers Accepted to NCA Convention

Two of my papers were accepted for presentation at the National Communication Association Convention in November. One of my submissions, “Making (and breaking) sense of membership: Organizational identification through anticipatory socialization” won a Top Student Paper award in the Applied Division! I wrote these two articles based on my dissertation data thus far, so I look forward to sharing these findings in Washington, D.C.
